BANGKOK: A United Nations envoy to Myanmar met Sunday with the detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and with members of the military junta that crushed a peaceful pro-democracy uprising, diplomats said. The envoy, Ibrahim Gambari, spent 90 minutes at a government guest house with Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest in Yangon, they said. He spent the previous night in the administrative capital, 320 kilometers, or 200 miles, away, where he met with leaders of the regime.
